Sticky Sweet Treat

When I was still in the Navy one of the places I visited was Busan, Korea. And I remember that right before we pulled in we were told don't eat the street food and drink the water and to stay away from the red zones(prostitute and drug districts) By us being so eager to go on liberty on top being hungry one of the first things we did was stop at a street vendor. We though " Oh, well it can't be that bad, lol."
So I remember walking down this one street super crowded street with a group of people and one of them was like hey let's try this, I don't know what it was but we were like uhmm ok. So we all got one and counted to 3 and took about and it was like the best thing we ever had to taste. It's called a hotteok which means sweet pancake in Korean.
It's basically a pancake with filled with this sweetish like filling that slowly oozes into your month when you first bite it. If I ever go back to Korea again this is going to be the first thing that grab to eat.

どのような珍味!

Here's a great oriental dish that's not only good it's also healthy
Salmon Sashimi and unagi(eel) nagiri with salmon and unagi rolls.
I use to live in Japan so I had to adjust to not eating American food aside from the horrible food they gave us on the ship(yuck). But anyways upon trying some of the many dishes there I absolutely love dishes like these. In my opinion you can eat a bunch of dishes like this and get full and not fill bloated. I encourage people to try it whenever I hear someone say they're going out for sushi. :)

Gobble Gobble

Happy Turkey Day!
Tis the time of year where people far and near come together on this day and give thanks and talk about what we're thankful for and how grateful we are for the blessings we receive throughout the year. The best part about coming together as one is when you do it with both family and friends from different walks of life or with people who don't have anyone to celebrate Thanksgiving with.

Recycle

                                       Recycle
If you like to do gardening, you should try this.
Instead  of throwing out the rotten/remains eaten fruits and vegetables you mix in a bucket with a little bit of dirt and water and create a nice rich soil mixture for the next time you do some gardening

Pan Seared Tilapia

Made this for me and my husband a few days ago. It's pan seared tilapia topped with diced bell peppers and onions on top of a nice crisp ceaser salad with chunks of juicy fresh cut mango with a slice of homemade garlic and herbs bread.
The ingredients I used while cooking, absorbed into the fish giving it a like fruity/tangy flavor with a light hint of smoke flavor and by it being accompanied with a light salad with fruit it enhanced the flavor even more.

Tha Savage

#SAVAGE
So me and my Hubby both enjoy a good juicy burger but at the same time we believe in getting our moneys worth. So one night I decided to make burgers and homemade fries. And here it is I call it the SAVAGE.
Its basically a double cheese burger on toasted bread with 1/4in. thick hamburger meat, lettuce, tomato, two different kinds of cheeses, mushrooms, avocado slices, special spice blended mayo, and mustards all held together by a kabob skewer. Seasoned homemade fries and to top it off we washed it all down with a nice cold Xingu which is a smooth Brazilian black larger beer.

What are you eating for dinner?

Pao de queijo, picadinho a brasiliera, y feiajo
(Brazilian cheese bread, ground beef recipe, and bean stew with meat)

I just recently notice that I have been starting to get bored with American food and made the decision to do something about it. I mean between me and my Hubby being in the service and going to different countries I figured why not try to make some of the tasty dishes we've tried while experiencing another culture.

Food For Thought

What is food exactly? Is it a feeling? Is it an emotion? Is it something that you created and gave birth to  on your on? Just exactly what is food?
Food to me is everything. It is life. It is feeling. It is emotions. It is culture. It is experience. It is EVERYTHING!
